Thumbs up Another HD channel added today

DirecTV also added:

National Geographic Channel HD - 276

And don't believe the "What is HD?" moniker. I have been learning and explaining HD (and correcting mis-informed Tech. Support people) for nearly 4 years.

Your screwed up website is not allowing me to add a url so you will have to type it in yourself.

You can find more info about MGM-HD at m-g-m-h-d-dot-com. You can now see the USA version by selecting United States of America from the dropdown.

Everybody here knows those monikers are added by the message board and changes according to the number of posts you put up. Don't sweat it.

We also know about posting url's. We also knew about the MGM thing.

Lightbulb Food Network HD is a sub channel

The Food Network HD has been added as 231-1.

This must be an experiment in adding similar content as a sub channel such as -1, -2 etc.

I assume that means sometime in the future that all news channels will become a sub channel on some number xxx-x.

ie.:
200 a list of news channels or the news mix channel
200-1 CNN
200-2 CHN
200-3 FNC
200-4 FBN (Fox Business News coming next week)
200-5 CNBC
200-6 MSNBC

and more.

The time of 1000 channels is coming , maybe in 2020 or 2050 or maybe much later but it means that it is possible.

Adding a URL is easy -

Here is MGM's HD site

or you could do it like this

or a more literal approach -
http://www.mgmhd.com

it's a little tricky but it's like about 1000 other forums I have seen on the web site.

Welcome to the forums, please leave the chip at the door, and have some fun here!

Thanks for the update. Curiously, unlike all the other HD channels, SD is the default for Food Network. I have to click the channel + to get the HD version. The other two new ones default to HD like all the others when I punch in the channel number.

Have you tried creating a Favorites List and using it instead of the all channels list so only the channels you want show up in the guide?

It is a real shame that the HR-20 doesn't have a changeable channels received list. I hate having to scroll though a search listing with hundreds of programs from channels I don't get or don't want to get. I have complained numerous times without any result.

Most of these message boards use the same prewritten asp or php scripts, it has nothing to do with the scripting abilities of the site owners.
