Dman, I currently have HD Access plus Premier. Regarding:

Q. Is DIRECTV HD Extra Pack free?
A. It’s a free preview until December 15, 2007. After that, it costs $4.99 per month.

Will I automatically get upgraded to receive HD extra pack now and in December, or do I have to do something to sign up?

Thanks for the info!

dman, GREAT amount of information, and we're glad you held your tongue, and gave us NO SALES TALK! Good Job! You are a welcome asset to this forum, and soon you may even be given access to the "secret handshake".

Well, from what we were told is that its going to be on your account automatic. Again, it is too soon to tell. Maybe it will expired and you would have to call in to order it.

I know right now that we are in the first phrase of changing the HD Access name. For example, if you have HD Access and Premier; you would see the name "HD Access_Premier". Also, HBO HD, Starz HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD, Sports HD on your bill.

If you have all the required equipment then you are okay. Its using the weather channel as an example. Sept. 19

Does this mean that RSN South is now in HD? I was watching Braves-Mets last night and it was SD.
That is true but you must have the standard HD access to be able to buy the extra programming.

Dude, after the new HDs are on is when you will get the RSNs in HD. It wasn't a suggestion that you could turn to them now and see them in HD. You know the new HDs haven't launched yet!

So what dman is saying is that HD only channels like the 2 HDNets and Universal HD will be a part of this $4.99 package? So they are putting at least 3 of our old HD channels in a package for us to buy?

Sounds like it. And that would REALLY suck. And it would drive me to cable.

A. Subscribe to:
PREMIER package
• For all the basic networks and their HD simulcasts.
• For all the premium HD channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz).
• For all the 24x7 Regional Sports Networks (RSN)
• For any non-game on an RSN as part of Sports Pack.
Dman, there is a show on FSMW (ch 647) called "Rams All-Access". It was on last Sunday night at 11pm ET and it's on again at 11pm tonight. I get the Premier package, but when I try to watch that show I get a message indicating it isn't available in this area. It is definitely not a game, it's a half-hour talk show about the Rams. I'm in the Atlanta area and I get other non-game programming on the RSNs. Can you tell me why I'm not able to get that program?

Hi guys I'm new. A few questions if u could help:

1. Is this Sept. 19th launch/activation a delayed version of the Sept. 16th we were waiting for?

2. When I signed up with Direc TV 3 months ago, both a DTV salesperson and a supervisor told me that if I signed up I would receive their coming 20-40 HD (around Sept.) 100 HD channels by the end of the year AT NO ADDITIONAL COST as part of my "Choice" programming package. Are you saying that I will indeed have HD channels taken away from me and have to Pay more to get the additional HD channels? (I only have 8-10 now). I'm furious if this is true and I'm considering litigation against Direc TV should they not give me what I signed up for and committed to for 2 years.
