So if you go to Ch. 245, for example, you'll get TNT in HD, PLUS it will still be on Ch. 75?

D* is planning to keep the mpeg-2 HD channels (70-79) around for a while, so the customers with older equipment can still get a few channels in HD. They will probably start requiring the new mpeg-4 equipment sometime in 2008.

anybody know if Atlanta will receive TBS in HD as part of locals, I can't get the national feed because it is part of the local channels here.

ok, cool. So I can delete all the "70's" channels that I'll be getting duplicates of elsewhere. I read where the quality of mpeg-4 channels will suffer until D* completely does away with the mpeg-2 channels. True?

Im sure we will because it was announced a few months ago that WTBS will stop being a TBS affiliate and become Peachtree tv or something like that!

The mpeg-2 channels should have no effect on the mpeg-4 channels, since they are on different satellites. The only thing that would hurt the mpeg-4 quality is when the new HD channel count gets above the planned capacity of 150 channels.

Nothing official has been announced, but I'm guessing sometime between 9/13 and 9/18.

I really hope that's the case. Chiller is one of the channels I am really looking forward to getting in HD. I just love all those cheesy monster movies.
