Default What CAN a HR10-250 be capable of??

Question - if I move my HR10-250 input from my old round dish to the new 5LNB SWM one, what are it's capabilities (other than not being able to receive MPEG-4 channels)?

Trying it right now, and it shows that it is receiving Satellite A (101) at a peak of 97, Satellite B (119) at a peak of 94, and not receiving Satellite C (110) at all. Only one line is going in the back of the HR10 (same as my HR22), and after the "Confirming Satellite Setup" step, it shows that it is not detecting the multiswitch, the right side of Satellite A, and Satellites B and C, along with a "Warning! A problem was detected.".

Note that it only gives three satellite types (1 LNB round, 2 LNB ovel, and 3 LNB ovel) to pick, not the newer one I have.

Is this what to expect with this setup, or is something not quite right. Right now my feeling is I may need to go back to the input from the old satellite - works great with it using Satellite A only.

Thanks for any assistance.

You need a SWM box to feed the receiver to split out the signals. The signals that used to be selected via the original multiswitches are stacked on top of one another (frequecy wise) with the SWM system. The new receivers have the unstackers built in. Older receivers need a separate unstacker box. The SWM-8 would take care of your legacy receiver. From solidsignal.com:

The HR10-250 is MPEG 2

The new channels are MPEG 4

You need a H20 or HR20 to receive them (and a 5lnb dish)
Along these lines, received an email today from DIRECTV asking me to initiate a test to see if my dish would receive their updated (Feb 25 signals). Don't those idiots maintian records of installed equipment?

Thanks for the inof. I just swapped it back to the older legacy dish. Looks cheaper, and easier, to just upgrade it to a HR21/22.
