Smile Will dish network equip. work with directv?

I currently have dish network installed at home. Have a DP quad LNB hooked up with a DP34 switch. Works great but I am getting a great offer from Directv. I want to know if the directv receivers will work with the Dish Pro equipment I have? I have the quad lnb pointing to 110 and 119 right now, i know I need to add a second dish pointing to 101 and hook it up to the DP34 switch. Just want to know if what I have planned will work? or will I have to get new equipment?
Any help from you experts would be great.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Default Dish Equipment with D*

I don't think E* equipment will work on a D* network; in fact I'm positive it won't. Part of the problem is how each service uses their proprietary software and codes. The other part is that they are direct competitors and do not want to make it easy for customers to jump from one service to the other, if their equipment could do it.

I think the switches will be of use; they don't care.

If D* is offering you a great deal, all of the equipment and installation costs should free since you are leaving their competitor and signing with them.

If you have good negotiating skills, you should be able to get the farm for free.

The equipment is not compatible....But, when the installer does come out to install Dtv, have him/her bring down the dishnetwork LNB.

Dishnetwork usually wants this equipment send back to them. Providing its of the new generation lnb.
