Default HR20 700 recording question???

Last nite i decided to watch a show i had recorded. The show lasted about 45 minutes & after it was over i deleted it & then i seen that i wanted to watch the beginning of the show that was on the channel i left it on while watching my recorded show. BUT when i tried to rewind the channel it would not go back. I thought when you had it on a channel it was ALWAYS recording that channel, even if i am watching a taped show as long as it is on the channel it's recording. I know thats how the HDDVR worked i had from TWC, but this HR20 700 i know nothing about. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Thats sorta the idea, I too would have thought it would have been there. What happens is the buffer system is keeping track of the current show and you normally can back it up, up to 90 minutes, or however long it was that you turned that perticular channel on.
IF you change the channel to check something else you WILL lose the buffer for the channel you were watching, so in a sense, NO it's not actually recording.
keep in mind that you can record two different channels and still watch something you already have recorded.
