Default Espn 2 Hd

ESPN will light up ESPN2 HD today, and the sports programmer has agreements with DirecTV and Adelphia for carriage of the new high def sports network.

ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will offer 82 live events during the first 83 days of 2005 across both services, the sports programmer said. In total, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will deliver 300 major events plus 2,000 programs totaling 6,000 hours in high definition in 2005, ESPN said.

All high-definition programming on ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD will be delivered to cable systems and satellite providers in the 720p high-definition format.

ESPN2 HD will come on live later tonight around 7pm when the college Basketball Triple header begins. Directv will showcase the New channel during a CES presentation!!!

I tuned in both 209 and 210 on my DirecTv HD box last night and neither one of those were in HD. What gives?

So far all I know is Directv is showing ESPN2 HD at the CES show. Possibly using the new 4 Meg compression technology on one of their new receivers via spot beam to Las Vegas!!

I called and sent an email expressing my displeasure at D*'s feet-dragging on ESPN 2 HD and TNT HD...

You'd think they'd have at least been prepared to discuss the issue last night, but it was like talking to a brick wall at the call center; no one even had any idea what I was talking about...

Default Just got this email from Directv on ESPN2 and TNT

Thanks for writing. While DIRECTV doesn't have an agreement with TNT HD or ESPN2
HD right now, we are in discussions with them and we hope to add TNT HD to our
lineup soon. I don't have a date to give you yet, but stay tuned to
DIRECTV.com/HDTV for the latest news and announcements as they become available.

I understand how important HDTV programming is to you. DIRECTV is committed to
providing the best in HDTV programming and we're in constant discussions with
various program providers to increase the amount of high definition programming
we offer.

Thanks again for writing and stay tuned to DIRECTV.com/HDTV for the latest news
and announcements as they become available.

Sincerely,

Annie

Exactly! If they did, they'd have had their "discussions" finished in time for the debut, since it wasn't like just yesterday everyone realized it was coming...Obviously, they aren't as "committed" as they'd like us to think they are....

How can they say they do not have an agreement....the press release states that DirecTV and Adelphia will have ESPN 2 HD......what do they mean no agreement? Nuts!
