Question about TiVO and DTV

Hi all,

On our HD TV we currently have the older version, non DVR DTV receiver (I forget the model - H10?) - it supplies HD, local channels/MPEG4, but no DVR. It works very well IMHO.

I have been watching the chats about the newer receiver, with DVR but no locals and stability issues for some. I don't want to move to that receiver until it's VERY stable and functional (ie OTA working well).

So IMHO I may not be moving until at least summer or next fall, being more conservative and not an early adopter. So my question is this --

SHould I buy a TiVO for HD recording, and use it for a year or two instead of upgrading the DTV receiver? I am really happy with what I have, I just want HD recording ability.

Has anyone done this?
