Anybody else have this problem?
During playback of a recorded HD program, the screen image "breaks apart" for about a minute. Sound is not lost. I tried a test by watching the program live and then reviewing the recording. The live broadcast was perferct, but the recorded program had the problem. Do I have a defective hard drive? I have the most current version of the software. |

I've had several freezes on playback. Usually at about 1 minute in. Rewind then forward past the stuck section and it works well thereafter. (recorded SD channels)

I too have noticed that while viewing recorded SD shows, I sometimes have the picture and sound freeze a few minutes into playback. It does not happen every time. I restart the show and sometimes it will run right through with no problems, other times (same recorded show) will freeze up at the same spot. This has happened with multiple recordings. I am not really sure if it is a hardware problem or if it is even a known issue. Another observation that I have made is that at times while I am watching sports(which is just about all the time) I notice that the picture will become choppy but the sound will keep going. It's like a strobe effect if that makes and sense. Anybody else notice this?

I have also experienced a freeze 1 minute in on several occasions (most of the time). Last Night I was watching a recording inprogress (1hour long show) at the 43 minute mark when the next show at 9pm started recording and the message came up "Do you want to delete this show?" I said No and it stopped recording the show I was watching. I lost the last 17 minutes of the first show. So I started watching the 9pm show and it was fine. Sometimes the playback will freeze in the middle of the show and start repeating. DirecTV doesn't have any knowledge of why this is happening and documented my problem.
