Default Direct TV & Past Due & Stopping Service

I was surpirsed to find my Direct TV suspended. I called the number on the screen and after 30 on hold minutes spoke to their rep. He told me Direct TV has switched to e mail billing for customers they have an e mail addy for. I never received the e mail. I asked him to turn my account back on and he said he could not; WHY? Their billing server was down and they could not take credit card payments. I told him again to turn it back on and he did. He then suggested I call back right after I hung up to try and make a payment [does this make any sense?]. I told him I was not going to spend another 30 minutes on hold and asked for his identication number, which he gave me, and then I asked for a superviosr.

Supervisor said Direct TV was getting 1000's of phone calls with my complaint. He gave me STARZ for 6 months and $10 off HBO for 6 months. He asked me to call back this weekend, after 4:00 PM to make that credit card payment.

The guys running Direct TV must be those monkeys I see in the monsterjobs.com ads on TV.

Actually, the D* website WAS having trouble yesterday.
Check you TV movie channels and nmake sure the Starz package IS on for you, AFTER this w/e, Starz is on FREE this w/e.

I had the same problem though I was not turned off. I noticed that I did not get billed, so I checked the site and found I was in arrears, so I paid with a credit card. I then called and the rep told me they got the credit card payment a few minutes ago. A week later, I got an e-mail saying that my account was past due and they would disconnect service. (I have been a customer for 14 years and have never missed a payment.)

I called and the rep said they never got my credit card payment that I had verified on the last call. My problem is that I never got the name of that rep, but I did get this gentleman's name. We had quite a fight.

Bottom line: I paid the balance on the credit card, received credit for the late charge, and received credit for $5 per month for 6 months (note: I already have free SHO for 6 mos.)
