Help! Direct Tv HD Question

I have a an oval 3LNB dish that I can tune to 101W or 119W but not both at the same time. It's quite frustrating. If I only subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket and I want it in HD can I just tune the dish to 119W and forget about 101W. Or do I still have to have both tuned?

If aligned properly the 3 LNB dish should recieve sats 101, 110 and 119. Not sure what your problem is.

I understand that, but I am having problems tuning them both in at the same time. I thought the 119W bird was the one that had the HD feed, and since I don't have any other programming except Sunday Ticket that maybe the 101W was not needed. I'm in 92071, and I get 100% on 101W Transponder 18 @ approx 165-170 degrees and 100% on 119W Transponder 28 @ approx 140-145 degrees.

What reciever do you have. Not all ST will be in HD. The SD feeds will probably be on 101. As for the HD feeds, they could be on 110 or 119 or both. I believe you will need ST SD and Superfan to get games in HD.

I have a Hughes HIRD-E86 Platinum which has HD. So not all the games are in HD? Then I have to have the SD feed to see the rest? I did not know that.

Can you get a picture on channel 100 or 200. If so you are OK on 101. The ST feeds are not yet open on the guide. The SD ST games are usually between 700 and 730. Dont know what channels the HD feeds will be on. Also check channel 700. That has info on Superfan. If you are signed up for ST and Superfan, listings should start showing up in the quide just before the season starts. Click on one of those channels and you should get a prompt that you are already signed up. I hope this helps.
