Is it likely that the delay in delivering the new HD DVR (HR20?) is due to D* wanting to have TiVo installed in it and get it nearly right the first time? They did sign up with TiVo again recently didn't they?

No it will not be Tivo powered. There extension with Tivo is just to support existing Tivo powered boxes.

Once again, a 'report' that states (highly inaccurate, btw, from personal experience) that the TIVO HD box was/is 'popular'.

Well, I'll never have another 'tivo' made device in my home. Poor design, poor operation, just POOR. My 10-250 is probably sitting in a landfill somewhere; luckily I got most of my money back.

The upcoming DTV unit has to have as good an OTA section as the H20, HD upgrades with external drives (USB or Firewire), and of course full Ka/5LNB/Mpeg4 capability. Everything I've read so far, is it meets all of those. Now, to see itf it actually meets those goals.

I would imagine that it handles MPEG2 signals as well, or a lot of channels would be in the dark when it comes out.
Hard drive upgrades and USB and/or firewire ???
I had not heard about these being a possibility, that would be great.
