Any word yet on when DTV will come out with a replacement for the 10-250?

Talked to customer retention yesterday getting my dad the HR10-250 (Father's Day gift hehe)...nice young woman I talked to said they should be rolling them out in Fall. We shall see...

I was told they were "trying like heck" to get them out before XMAS.

Just to show how much DTV employees know, I was told early 2007 was the goal.

So basically, nobody knows.

And wasnt it introduced at the CES show in Jan. '05 ?

I've been told this fall, and also 1st of next year and before that it was the end of the 2nd quarter.

I just hope it's not filled with bugs when it does get here.....

By the time it comes out, they'll probably tell you that you will need a new 10 lnb dish.

Q2 2006 was a delayed but rather firmly targeted date to release the new HD DVR. I just read the above and like all of you, am amazed at the delays in the release of this new reciever. I use the HD TIVO unit and my OTA HD is great except for CBS, which is too far away to get a consistent signal - it actually comes in when it is cloudy out and not when it is clear - called tropospheric induction, I believe. Reverse logic to me. Anyway, I suspect we are going to see a unit with a lot of bugs upon initial release. Too bad we will all have to wait so long.

One more thought on this. I just read a summary of a May conference call concerning earnings for investors in DTV. Their execs emphasized they are looking to a roll out of the HD DVR "this summer".

called my supplier friday and said they just got back from a sales meeting where they were informed september 2006.

I suspect we are going to see a unit with a lot of bugs upon initial release.

Maybe , maybe not, hopefully part of the delay is to work the bugs out BEFORE hand... If not, they will need to make quick changes to rectify the situation.
