I just got my new hd-20 and the new 5lnb dish. Got the hd package and all. I get all of my locals (OTA) except for abc, So I'm only out on LOST. I was just wondering has directv announced what channels they are trying to add. Or are we pretty much stuck with the 6 or 7 we got now. btw does espnhd broadcast games live. All I've seen is re-recorded games.

Espnhd shows the exact same lineup as espn. So yeah... there's a ton of live games on there.

ESPNHd and ESPN2HD showing two collage games in SD tonight what a joke, shame on ESPN, it is hardly HD channels at least they could show primetime games in HD, if they could not show HD in their first cahnnel what is the point of 2nd channel.

Isn't that just crazy? Its like there are only a limited number of HD cameras and all the networks have to share.

IT's ESPN1 and ESPN2. They are the same as ESPN HD and ESPN2HD.

If something is in HD, it goes on the HD side. If not, it stay's on both sides, but in standard def.

These are not 4 different channels. They show the same content.

You can wait for DTV to catch up, or you can go with Dish Network and get more HD channels than any other provider. Also, they've got such incredible offers going on, there's no reason to go with anyone else. If you visit www.AllAmericanDirect.com they've some other exclusive offers as well.

They may have more channels, but based on the content...not necessarily more value.

I had been with Direct TV for 8 years, am I am switching to Dish on Tuesday. The main reason I am switching is that Dish has more channels, which includes the NFL channel in HD. DTV will tell you they will be getting more channels but it is yet to be seen.

You may want to hold on before switching to Dish. Yes they have more HD channels, but how many are quality ones? The NFL channel in HD will be available to us during the NFL season. Also, D* is the only one with the NFL ticket. You should see about 10 national HD channels added sometime this fall. In time D* will be #1. They are just starting to pick up the pace this summer. They know they are lagging behind and believe me they are working on catching up to everyone else. Good luck on what you decide to do.

I switched from directv to dish about 3 weeks ago and couldnt be any happier with my decision. Some of us dont base everything on nfl viewing.

the most important thing is picture quality and dish has the advantage in both sd and hd. then i would say the amount of hd channels they offer and the real attempt on there part to bring the newest national hd channels to there customers. I know there have been some postings saying there is no difference in picture quality, but i have no horse in this race and i can only tell u what my eyes see and so far im very satisfied.
