Default Trouble with DirecTV again.

Old cell phone service ended wife signed up for new service with AT&T 2 free phones plus free DirecTV $107 every month for 2 years. First bill comes it is wrong and every month for 12 months every bill is wrong. Wife spends 2 to 5 hours each month on the phone getting the bill corrected. After 1 year bill is $189 wife spends 15 hours on the phone they refuse to lower the bill to $107 they claim bill changes after 1 years. Wife sends them a copy of out agreement they claim that is wrong you own $189. Wife cancelled the service and changed to another company. We still get bills for $189 every month. Now DirecTV is sending us bills too that is suppose to be free with phone service. Wife has a statement from AT&T that we own ZERO dollars she also has a statement that says we have a $9 credit with DirecTV. Bills still come in the mail plus she gets phone calls every day, 17 phone calls yesterday and 14 phone calls so far today. We can not block the calls DirecTV and AT&T both change their phone number with every phone call. Now we stop answering all calls that we do not recognize. Wife mailed all the DirecTV equipment back to them in a pre paid postage box DirecTV provided 2 months ago today we get a bill from DirecTV for 2 months of service we never received. Talking to them on the phone is pointless and waste of time.

About 15 years ago I had DirecTV contract that ended, price went up and I cancelled. Service went OFF so I removed the equipment. Few months later I get a bill from DirecTV for more service. I call them to learn they turned my service on again and expect me to pay for it. Service was off 3 days now they want me to pay a bill for service I never received. To make a long story short I had to buy a phone answering machine DirecTV refused to talk to the machine. DirecTV sent me bills for years and called me for years. We moved away several years later they lost track of us.

Now there are attorneys that advertise on TV that it is a federal law for bill collectors to keep calling you for bills you don't own. It is time to call the attorney, time for DirecTV to have this shoved up their ass.

It sounds fishy to me. NO such thing as free phones. OP didn't state what kind of phones they received, but $109 for 2 smart phones (read iPhones or other units) by itself would be a GREAT deal. I have 2 iPhones with 3GB of data) that run around $109. That's without the extra charge for DTV which might very well pump the bill up to $189. Re "free" phones or other stuff that "free" is really built into the price of the deal.

When I was around 10, I learned that there is NO FREE LUNCH! Bad deal blowing off this service before the contract is up as it probably will effect the OP's credit rating. At least in IHO.

I'll have to see the paper work before I'll believe this RANT.

Doesn't it considered as violation if they call you that much within a day? Have you reported this to FCC or similar authority?
