adding a new box, charges?

i just upgraded my house to whole home viewing, in doing so one of my tvs that was mirrored to a bedroom was disconnected. they told me it could not be mirrored because of the swm 16 unless i wanted to keep the bedroom tv in 4:3 or sd or something. so im thinking the easy solution is to get another box and add it to my account. does anyone know if directv will give me a free box because im adding another receiver or is there a charge for this?

They will probably sok you for more$.
If the distance is short, you can add a cheap hdmi switch and just run another hdmi line. You can get all different lengths.

FYI, cheap HDMI switches often don't work, especially with the HDCP copy protection protocol..

I had a box in our bedroom and then the TV went bad so cancelled the box. Now we got a new 37" for the bedroom and got a new box for just $6/month

I needed a fix for the problems Directv caused me with my slaved SD tv. Another receiver would have solved my problem. I talked nice to the CSR and they gave me a brand new HR24 for free and charged me just $49 for installation.
I enjoy having two DVRs and Whole home viewing.

been using this since October, 1st one stopped switching.
just a temp. anyway. monoprice has better quality.
but it offers no problems, with anything I throw at it.
using 2 in, my oppo and HR34

Is there such a thing as a wireless HDMI device, something similar to a WiFi or powerline network adapter? It would be neat if I could pull the signal from the box in one bedroom and send it to a TV in another bedroom without having to run a long HDMI cable.
