Default DirectTV @ sam's club

Has anyone signed up for DTV via a rep at sam's club? It looks like the best deal online or off. Are there any catches?

Looked around and could not find there deal, however 99% of the time dealers all have the same pricing on gear and service.

Maybe SAMS will save you a buck or 2. Like the Wii games - $49.99 pretty much every where else, SAMSCLUB - $47.38 or something like that. Oh BOY !!

When I went looking for a TV SAMS didn't have the size or brand I wanted. I wasn't impressed with the prices on what they had their either.

Default Sam's club and Direct TV

We recently signed up with Direct TV through our local Sam's club. We have only had it two weeks and already having problems. The pricing we were quoted WAS a great deal - only because what we were quoted and what we got were totally different. The rep at Sam's told us we were getting a 'special' deal through Sam's and wouldn't need to call the 'corporate' office of Direct TV, that was wrong. Of course you don't find that out until you DO have an issue to be resolved and that's after waiting over 20 minutes to speak to someone at the number posted on the paperwork. We were supposed to get Choice Ultimate programming but received Choice Extra, supposed to get the Sports pack but received none, supposed to have Direct TV Cinema but that is only available on one of our four tv's because you have to have a high def receiver for it. When I asked to speak to a supervisor at Direct TV, I was transferred to another person who wasn't a supervisor and when I expressed my concern over the 'bait and switch' tactic I was told when I confirmed my email (because I am receiving a $5/mo discount for having an email account) that that was part of the 'order confirmation' prior to the install.

BEWARE - lesson learned that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!!

The real kicker was when I asked to terminate, I was told there would be a fee since it's been 15 days since it was installed.

I'm hoping Sam's will have some sense of customer service/satisfaction, I haven't talked to them since they are already closed for the day.

First of all, I haven't been into Sams in quite some time.(for no other reason then I am a Costco Shopper.) I haven't looked at satellite pricing at Costco but even when it came to cell phone pricing Costco was a lot less than the actual Verizon store.
My wife's phone was $99 at the Verizon store with a $36 activation fee.

I was able to get her phone for $29 at Costco. Free activation fee and it came with an accessories kit that came with car charger, cell phone case and bluetooth headset.

My point is simply that the pricing at Sam's may be much better than even DTV directly. It is definitely worth checking.
