Default S L O W remote action

Just switched from Dish to Direct and it sure seems the time it takes to switch channels, check guide, fast forward or most anything else takes two or three times longer than with Dish. Is there any way to speed things up or do you think we have some technical glitch that can be fixed?

If you are using an HD DVR this is perfectly normal. If you have a regular SD or HD receiver the remote functions instantaneously.

Just relax and enjoy life. Fretting over a few extra seconds will just pull them off the end of your life.

I've found that it's much faster when changing channels to hit the mini guide and select your new channel form there. Typing in channel digits is unbelievably slow at times. For some reason, it's easier to enter digits on the mini guide.

The only thing that is going to fix this problem is for dtv to invest in some quality dvr . dish and cable don't have any lag. i hate it but some people , like dtv and others, will tell you to just deal with. boy , that is good cs.

He is the king of trolls but also doesn't realize something. the Dish DVR might be so great in his eyes right now but after last weeks appeals loss with Tivo the Dish DVR's might be shutting down to do patent infringement. If that happens maybe he will go to the dish forum and bash them instead.

I have a regular SD and HD receiver. Yes the SD is very fast but no the HD is also painfully slow at times.

That's strange. I have an H23-100 in my bedroom and the things flies throught the guide. It was brand new when I got it in January 2009 though and not refurbished.

I think I have a H21-200.
At times it's ok, at times it's slow.
I'd say though that slow is the exception not the rule.
