Default Super Bowl in HD

I've had Sunday ticket Superfan for the last two years in order to be able to watch games in HD... Locals are not available here in HD, does anyone know if DTV will air this on one of the national broadcast channels? It sucks that our locals do air in HD, and that DTV still does not carry them, I don't mind paying for Superfan but wouldn't it make sense for those of us who pay extra to be able to enjoy the big game in HD???

If your locals are not broadcast in HD-Then your out of luck, The super bowl will be broadcast on the National Feed CBS in HD but you will only be able to get that if you subscrib to the National feeds-which require a wavier.

Your other choice is find a Local Sports Bars that has HD service and watch it there.

I kinda figured, that was the case... I am going to call DTV and see if there is anyway they can turn on the national cbs just for today, I have noticed that in the past it has been on, like for the masters or other events, wouldn't you think that for those of us who pay the extra money for HD and sports packages big sporting events which are broadcast nationally turning these channels on would be the norm???

I agree!! I got lucky for today, all our locals are sd on E*, but I can get everything but Fox in HD ota. You would never believe this hell hole, they have spent large sums of money for years trying to get high speed rail here that nobody will use. Then around here they talk 3D ! Hell, HDTV has been in the making for many years and I still can't get that for half of the good stuff.

The Super Bowl was nice in HD until the cameras started panning and then everyone got nice and blocky. It sure will be nice when bandwidth is increased and that kind of stuff doesn't happen.

At least it looked better then the last SuperBowl in Miami a few years ago. I know it was raining during the game but still the HD looked really bad back then. It seems the quality is getting better each year.

You are quite right as it did blow away previous years. I guess I am just spoiled from Blu-ray.
