I have the 30HFX84, but these will give you a good place to start...

SVM off first!
Brightness 33
Contrast 38
Color 16
Tint -12
Sharpness 22
Temp Warm

I used the DVE disk for these. You may need to tweek for your set.

Congrats on the new set...Welcome to HIGH DEF!

I calibrated my 30HF85 using Avia and this is what I got:

Brightness= 23
Contrast= 11
Color= 18
Tint= -9
Sharpness= 10
*SVM off
*Color= Warm

Keep in mind that every Tv will calibrate differently so what I have on my 30HF85 may be different on yours. You really should consider a calibration disk, Avia is pretty good and teach you about what you just bought.

Do you guys have different settings to cable and for DVD? I would assume these are your DVD settings, correct?

My cable looks pretty good (pretty good as in SD looks no better than so-so, but HDTV looks awesome), but my DVD, or anything 480p looks pretty mediocre. It's either fuzzy and smudgey, or grainy 'cause it's too sharp. Colors look muddy as well.

As I mentioned before, All sets are different. They sometimes come from the factory w/ different settings in the service menu. You will need to do the fine tuning yourself. You may want to use the settings from Keith_R305 since he has a set that is the same model #. You can only calibrate with a DVD player, and then change the various input settins to your calibration #'s.
