Unhappy Does this indicate my SONY XBR960 is going out?!?!?

I just recently noticed something strange with the picture on my SONY 34" XBR960...

It seems as though the screen is actually split in half horizontally, and normally the picture looks fine, but I have noticed a couple of times, especially on live events (like the Rosebowl yesterday), that the two halves seem to be just a split-second off from each other... Sort of like the top 1/2 refreshes and then the bottom half refreshes sequencially, but instead of a smooth transition between the two halves where they meet in the center of the picture tube, there is a "mili-second's" delay so that it is just enough to be noticible & distracting...

In other words, the video is just slightly out of alignment between the top & bottom halves~

I don't notice this all the time, just periodically, so I wonder if it is the source video or my set!

Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone have any experience with their SONY CRT based set doing this?

I'm just wondering if this is "the beginning of the end" for this set... It's been great for the entire time I've had it, but now I wonder if it needs service, and/or if it is about to die completely~

BTW, this is with DISH Network via a 622 receiver~

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Gary

I have never experienced that with dish using many different TV technologies (including CRT) so I would conclude that your TV is having some problems.

uh oh, since we do have the same tv i'm scared for you on this one brother! i havent' noticed anything like that on mine.

The only problem i have with mine is in the lower right hand corner the picture curves ever so slightly. thankfully it is not noticeable except when i am viewing a programming guide.

maybe you can try using OTA directly through the TV as well as using HDMI if you typically use component or vice versa. I am no expert on these sets, mine is only 3 years old.

best wishes on this problem and hopefully it is something minor.
