My Zenith 27" HD 1080i direct view TV is displaying a distorted dual image when I swith to progressive mode on my DVD player. It's not the player as I tried another DVD player resulting in the same problem. I'm using the "DVD Component" input on the TV. When I switch the DVD player out of progressive mode the image is normal (still using the component inputs).
What's wrong????? |

Your TV is not picking up the progressive mode. Some of the CRT HDTVs (my Zenith 27") will convert everything to interlace scan anyway so using the progressive mode is no help anyway. Mine has a VGA input that will take up to 800x600p and it converts to interlace scan for display.
If your Zenith is not capable of multiscan, which it sounds like, then just use the interlaced mode. |

Many older TV's with Component Video inputs did not support pogressive scan, just as many older DVD players with Component Video outputs didn't output progressive scan.
