Default Issue with picture, help please

I've had this TV for a couple years now and am pretty fed up with it. I'm not exactly sure what model it is, but it is of Apex brand.

My problem is that whenever I am watching some channels or playing xbox 360, usually the picture goes into the bottom of my screen so I can't see everything. It's quite frustrating at times and I was wondering if any of you know how to resolve this so that the resolution fits my screen.

Thanks.

The problem is overscan. Older TV's had a knob you could adjust. Yours may have an adjustment in the menu system, or more likely, in the "hidden" service menu.

hmmmm, my tv was doing this, the fix I found was my scource was set to 16:9, setting it to 4:3 allowed the tv to do conversion. and the pic was quite normal after.
