I have the IS30, but I originally had the NS. What is it your trying to do? Ooops, yea I just re-read your post. I dont know a factory reset but whats your problem with the audio? Perhaps Im just not understanding the question, Im pretty tired.

Your using the tv for your sound? Ummm, damn bro Im not sure. I know on mine it used to be greyed out but I was using the HDMI just for picture, never for sound so Im not really sure. I know on my old one if I wasnt on the right input when I looked the menu it would show grey when it didnt apply but I would imagine your checking this when on the HDMI input right? Come to think of it is it greyed out because you actually are connected to a digital source and wouldnt have the option to change it?

I'm new here so sorry if this have been resolved.

I have the same problem with my NS-27HTV.

I ran out of inputs on my receiver and my DVD Recorder only has coaxial audio output so I am going into my TV using HDMI and out via optical into my receiver. But it is only outputting PCM 2.0 audio. According to the users manual, I should be able to change this to DD. However, like shaklee, the "digital audio" option is grayed out. Does anybody know how I can "rest" the options or whatever so I can make this change? Insignia was no help. They kept calling my receiver and amplifier.

You have connected your ps3 to the TV with an optical cable to get sound from the PS3 to the TV? That will never work. The optical port on your TV is an output, not an input. It is intended to feed audio from the TV to a receiver/amplifier.

If this is not what you are trying to do, then please explain in detail what you are trying to do. Otherwise we have to take wild guesses rather give you informed answers.
