Default KD34XBR970 Poor color/tint

Any experts out there? I just picked up set(last one in area) and noticed that there is poor tint in scenes with non-Caucasian people e.g. Spanish or Black. The flesh tone is correct but in same scene a non-cauc. will have a "greenish" hue.

Anybody notice this? Grey scale on set is so-so, but noticed this on another '970. Thanks for any opinions.......Lucky.

I guess the set would be a candidate for an ISF calibration, no doubt!

A definite grayscale issue, and yes, it can be corrected with measurement/calibration. Once done, these displays produce excellent results.

Did you purchase a service plan? My first XBR970 had a green-ish quality too. When I had a service tech look at a few of my TV's issues, he also was able to adjust the tint more accurately.

Thanks for repliies. I am going to return XBR970 (explain later) and picking up 'XS955. I see a procedure @AV Forum by KenTech for aligning that I will try when I get it, as I have some expertise with TV's. Curious to see the difference in PQ between the sets!.........lucky125
