Default Spotted glass on my Panasonic 34WX50

Hello,
This is my first time posting here and was hoping that someone may be able to help me with a problem I have noticed with my old Panasonic 34WX50. Recently I noticed that the glass screen appears to have all of these spots on it that won't come out. They are creating almost an oily film look to the screen, because they have that rainbow effect to them. It almost looks to me like it is on the back side of the glass and that some sort of tint that Panasonic may have used on the glass is starting to come off. The spots are really only visiable when viewing the TV from an angle, and when dark images are displayed, but it is starting to ruin my viewing experience of my trusty Pansonic! Any ideas of what to do? I have a feeling the glass is bad and needs to be replaced (not sure it is even possible to do).

Here is a link to a picture I took of the screen with the TV off. It is hard to see what I am talking about in the picture, but basically the pinkish hue in the reflection are the spots that I am talking about.

Default Spotty Glass

I recently picked up the same TV, and I have had the 32" version from Panasonic since 2000. I, too, noticed the spotty glass, but I also noted that you can not see it when the picture is on. In addition, it requires very little cleaning for dust (unlike my 32" screen), so I suspect that film is placed on there to keep from having to clean the screen regularly. Overall, I am glad it is there, even if it does look oily when the TV is off.
