How can anyone watch standard def?

1080i Black bar?
Anyone know what this is I have the new DTV HR-20 and a sony 32" trinitron when i'm watching a program on a 1080i station I get a faint black line that scrolls from right to left. I don't get it when I'm on a 720p channel.
