Default New Toshiba 34HF85 - DVD's are RED when using component connection.....

Hi all,

I just got my 34HF85. My DVD player is a Samsung P231 and I am using components to hook it up. My regular TV is through Dish with a non-HD connection.

Anyway, any DVD I put in is showing up RED!! What can I do? I have checked all the cables, connections, etc. and it only happens with the DVD's.

Is it the cables? What can it be? Please Help! I am getting discouraged.

Sounds like your component cables are in the wrong inputs... verify red -> red, blue -> blue, green -> green.

My red wasn't all of the way in at first and I wondered why Lord of the Rings was looking all bluish-green...

Default Me too...

I just got the 30HF85 and am having the same issue with my DVD player. It just came a few hours ago, so at this point, I've chalked it up to a bad cable and was going to pick up another one tomorrow. I double checked and each wire is connected well and in the right spot... Please post back if you figure out the problem and I'll do the same.

Hey Wannabe...

You have to change the settings in the DVD players setup menu. The video output on mine was set to the wrong resolution. As soon as I switched the resolution, mine was perfect. Hope that helps...
