Default PC video glitches on new system - dual monitor related

A friend recently upgraded my system for me with a new motherboard and video card.

I was running dual monitors and they worked great. But now on the new and improved system I am seeing video glitches. When I start the PC up the monitors glitch out (video shakes/judders violently for a second). And when I enter the NVIDEA control panel the screen glitches and one screen goes temporarily blank.

Also, I am convinced that video streaming looks worse, even though it is a better video card.

Any ideas why this might be? And can this sort of thing damage my monitors?

Do you have the latest video card drivers installed?

Did you reinstall the operating system after you replaced the motherboard? What motherboard and what video cards do you have installed?

I'm not sure, my friend did it. I think he reinstalled the operating system.

It has a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P motherboard and a NVIDIA 7600GT videocard.

Have you checked out the nVidia forums? That would be a good place to get some specific nVidia help.

Have you scanned for virus'?
Many problems stem from things simply corrupting different parts of your system. That is why I have Cyberdefender now, because it has blocked out a lot of harmful virus' from being able to attack me.

Dont add any "anti-virus" software. Just makes for trouble. You didn't mention what video card you previously used and if ALL of the old drivers were completely uninstalled. You may have all the new drivers but it is common to have glitches if all of the old drivers have not been completely uninstalled. Me suggestion would be to completely remove all the video drivers on your machine, download the current nvidia drivers for the 7600 and re-install. If this does not help, re-seat the video card and try again. It is possible to have a moboard that is damaged. One more thing,,enter the bios and make sure the onboard video is disabled.
