i'm completely new to LCDs, and I want to get one to get back into gaming. It's going to be a lot of work to even upgrade to an LCD because my computer doesn't have a DVI port. I need to buy a video card with a DVI port.
I've heard that an LCD PC with HDMI monitor works wonderfully with the xbox, but I hear nothing but bad about LCD monitor speakers. I want to bypass the computer monitor speakers and use my PC speakers for the xbox. I want to use the same speakers for the PC and the xbox 360. Is there some complicated wiring to do this? |

Most of the highend klipsch and logitech speakers have digital inputs, so you could just hook the xbox up directly to the speakers with an optical cable, and maintain the dolby digital live 5.1.
You're going to lose any "true" surround sound if you hook it up any other way. And also, the 1/8" inputs on computer speakers are meant for high-voltage sound card outputs, which typically have a much higher voltage to reject noise than the rca outputs of the 360. 1/8" headphone cables have terrible noise rejection at low voltages, and the volume will be much lower if the speakers aren't amplified. |

ANY speaker in any monitor is crap. Find you a small stereo system on craigslist and give it a try. Works like a champ

You know what ive found that seems to work good and is a quick easy thing to do, just use the digital out or analog out to a small powered woofer box. Even a small 6-8" will thicken up the sound just enough to make the onboard speakers sound fine.
Im using a small 3 piece setup from a computer right now and ive tried different sattelites but they each just have a little diferent tone wich i then adjust with the eq on the tv to get them how i want or till my ear adjusts to them. The onboard tv speakers usualy just lack the thickness a good set has. If you think about it, the onboard speakers are just a midrange tweater kinda, so simply adding a seperate powered woofer will make it pretty much a 3 way setup. My vizio has a headphone out ive tried that before also.
