Hi. I have read this thread regarding the WD TV HD player. I just bought one. I can't find the answer to what you do if you want it to 1) play iso files and 2) img files. If this is not possible - how do I convert the files in order to be able to play them on this device? Brgds, Magnus in Stockholm

I've had this player for a couple hours and 90% of all my video files play perfectly. I have yet to try ISOs, IMGs, and DIVX files.

Be sure you update the player. They have fixed several container selections that didn't work.

I have the latest firmware (1.01.02). Plays mkv & avi & vob beautifully well, but .iso and .img is not playing. Is there a way to convert them?

As far as .iso files read this:
What are iso files, and how do I open them? - Ask Leo!

Both of these file types need to be unpacked in order to allow the files to be used.

Think we are on the right track here. I mounted the img-file using daemon tools to a virtual disk F: When this was done I can explore the disk F: and there I will find a file structure with file examples as below:

VTS_1_01-VOB
VTS_1_02.VOB
etc
These files should work on the WD player, will test this tomorrow.
/m

Just joined after purchasing 46A650 LCD TV yesterday. Now looking for riped Blu-ray movies? Googling didn't help. Any idea where to get a few?

Welcome to HDF!

Congratulations on your new purchase. Unfortunately, HDF does not traffic in information to obtain illegal material. I would be very careful going forward as the studios are taking their copy protection rights very seriously.

There is no way out of the box. There are some experimental hacks that are available, or I really should say are being worked on, but they could end up bricking your player. One thing you can consider is to get a big enough USB memory stick and use that. I got a 16 GB Sandisk Cruiser for about $31 that works very well after reformatting it for NTFS. Then copy what you want to it and plug it in.
