I use Webroot Antivirus w/ AntiSpyware and I've never had a problem. I use this program on both of my pc's and never had a virus knock on wood. I normally wait til it's onsale somewhere for like $10.00 then if you install it you can go to there website and dl the antivirus for another 10. So you pay 20 instead of the 40 they want to charge you for the full year.

I've tried out several options but Cyberdefender is the one that I now swear by and have no problems with!

Interesting message from RIS 2009. I was on UK site and got this in Firefox. Good to see it's working/protecting!

I have been using Trend Micro since I bought my PC a couple of years ago and it works great. I am always free from "unwanted" things and it does not slow down my PC's performance at all. You should try it. Plus, Trend Micro coupons is giving 10% off on their Internet Security 2010 so you better check that out too.

The newly released Microsoft Security Essentials works great as an anti-virus solution and prevents malware as well. Very resource stingy and works with Windows better than any 3rd party solution. Give it a try...

The best anti-virus and spyware prevention is plain common sense. Watch what you do and you don't even need any "protection". You don't need condoms if you practice abstinance so to speak.

None of the available programs are perfect and most of the free ones are pretty good. I used AVG for years until they developed an "update glitch" and switched to AVAST. Both did the job. Just recently I took advantage of an offer from Zone alarm for their suite for 3 pcs for only $9.95 a year and it works very well and completely unobtrusive.

Bottom line is I've never had a virus, bot or spyware because I'm very careful where I go and what I click on (back to the condom example).

Default Dukerock12 what did ya decide

Original Post over a year old, wonder what he decided on.

For what it is worth I'm trying out Zonealarm Extreme Security

I believe ZoneAlarm is still using the Kaspersky anti-virus engine, since it was intergrated in their ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0 from back in the day.
