Surround Sound for WMV HD files?
Hi there!
Not sure if this is the right place for this thread (I've also posted it in the Speakers & Surround Sound section just in case) but let's give it a go! Ok so I have this amazing surround sound home cinema system and I use an optical cable (or toslink) to link it up to my PC. When I play DVDs on my PC (through my optical drive), my system recognizes the audio format and plays it in 5.1 surround sound. But everything else, no! HD movies or games that have a 5.1 option in the audio menu don't seem to get recognized. Only Stereo - well the sound is coming out from all the speakers but only as a left and right... The HD movies are 1080p VC1 5.1 WMV So is there any way to make my HD films (or games but it's not my main concern) watchable with surround sound? Thanks a lot for your time guys!
