Set top cable box to PC
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a lap top and I want to hook it up to my hd cable box. My box has a dvi hook up and my pc has, among others, a hdmi hookup. My question is: Can I run a dvi cord with a dvi male end to my pc with a hdmi male end and end up with hd cable viewing on my lap top pc? My pc is ready for tv also. Thanks for your input. John |

No because your HDMI on your laptop is an output not an input.

Its a HP Pavilion DV9640US(GS745UA) Intel Core 2 Duo T5250(1.50GHz) 17.0" Wide XGA+ 2GB 240GB DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS NoteBook
I know little about cables but the set up includes a RF coaxial cable adapter that connects to the tuner Im also looking for the best possible resolution. Any suggestions? thanks |
