I'm kinda new to this, I'm about to rec this xbr2 & have been looking at pc>hdtv & have been having all kinds of issues. First was that dvi-i to hdmi connectors don't exist, dvi-i is the only dvi-out port I've seen on ati cards & the Sony only accepts 1080p via hdmi. Then I'm finding that I can't find a video card that tv-outs (digital)1080p, only analog 1080i cards (at best, passing through adapted composite). It's looking like composite (analog) can't carry 1080p, which left me looking for video cards w/hdmi(1.2+?)-out. Does anybody know of one, esp one made by the 'big 2'?
Looks like neither Nvidia nor ATI's best cards have it http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/Default.aspx I did find this article which was good reading... http://www.audioholics.com/news/pres...sATInVidia.php I'm thinking it takes hdmi 1.2 or higher to pass 1080p, am I right? Thanks for any help in suggesting a card/clearing this up. |

Look a few posts down. There's a similar thread already started about HDMI.
