Can anyone tell me how I can connect my laptop to my Toshiba
42wh18b TV? I connected the RCA cables from my HDMI connection to the back of my TV (white to blue, yellow to green, red to red) under the the area labeled INPUT. I think my main questions are: What channel and setting do I have to put my TV on and why isn't my computer notifying me when I plug in my HDMI cable? I have a Lenova SL410 ThinkPad Any Advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks! |

With the cables being white-red-yellow it sounds like a SD video connection. There should be some video inputs that will match the cable colors. Then you would select the video input on the TV. It won't be HD, but should give you a picture.
You say you hook this cable to the laptop HDMI connection. Is this a cable that came with the laptop? The reason I ask is the component connections and composite connections are analog video/audio and the HDMI is digital video/audio. |

I'm trying to hook up my ancient desktop computer (cheap e-machines that we bought for my father-in-law that he never used) to a 19" Sharp Aquos and am able to see the Windows splash screen but then nothing else appears.
The graphics card is an Intel82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller and the TV is a Sharp Aquos 19SB28UT. The only way to connect the computer to the TV is through a VGA cable (no HDMI or s-video on the computer). When I use a Dell monitor, everything works fine but not when I attach to the TV. Are there changes that I need to make to the clock on the graphics card to work with the TV? Why can I see the Windows startup splash screen but nothing else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi All:
Sharp LC70LE847u Computers ( it doesn't matter - have tried 7 different ones) Cables, have tried 10 or more HDMI to HDMI I get I get random lines streaking across the screen and "blockie", or jumpie video.. with the computers.. WD player works just find,, very good video Blu Ray player in computer ,, and the DVD plays fine.. Only when the video is on HD or Thumb Drive..,, and played in full screen. Have tried all the video programs there are (VLC<GOM<MPC<Power DVD) makes no difference Line are random, and half way up to the top (horzional) Not Blockie in all video's. Sharp replaced motherboard in tv,, didn't fix it. TV's going back Monday and getting a new one ,, same model.. Anyone got any thoughts?? (have tried all settings on video card, most are GeForce,, have't tried a ATI yet. |
