Default DVI video to Sony Tv from PC

Hi guys,i have A lenovo Thinkcenter with Linux Mint Mate with Intel Hd 2000 Graphic card,
3.o mesa 9.0 drivers, this Pc has DVI video connection, i connected it to my Sony Hd Sony TV with DVI input it recognises the TV hd dvi and i can see a perfect clean video pic but it will cut the edges so i can't use the tv monitor to navigate the browser i can raise the resolution up to 1920x1080 30 HZ but it also gets the pic bigger on the screen,
i have connected other monitor to the VGA output so i can control and change things on the screen. but this monitor only goes to 1024x576 resolution.the best i can get is in the mirror this monitor but still can't control the browser on the Sony tv,
is there anything that i can do to adjust this monitor to get the best had resolution and keep the pic centered. so i don't have to have a sec monitor to be able to navigate the web?
thanks in advance

Don't know a thing about intel graphics, but I would think they have a utility so you can change your overscan and adjust the output to fit the screen. Other than that you can only try to change the resolution and see what fits. Is your Sony 1080 or 720?

Thanks lsilvest; i have a Sony KV36HS500 and it's 1080i with no adjustments of aspect ratio,i normally have to do the adjusts on the source, like my hd sat receiver and so on,i tried to adjust on the display settings but no avail i donīt want to go under 1024x576 otherwise i loose quality.if i go higher the pic gets larger

Your adjustment should be from the Lenovo. Are you saying the Intel Graphics doesn't provide a utility that can adjust overscan?

Thanks lsilvest, this a linux OPS if there is i don't know how,
there is the monitor display control for the resolution and rotating normally the resolution on a pc can fix that but in this case only can make it bigger not shrinking maybe there is but on Linux i don't know much.

OK guys i was able to get the full 1080i 30HZ resolution on the Sony with minimal over scan by swapping the existing VGA monitor that was 1024 resolution for a Led 15'' 1080i HD TV with VGA input that i had hanging around,so now i get same pic on Sony as on the monitor with the exception that i still can't see PC upper and bellow control but i use the VGA connected monitor to control them.
Wish i could get the TV to display the PC controls like shut down,
i have the Sony Service manual maybe I'll try to squeeze 1' each side vertically, i got to study this thoroughly, don't want to mess the TV.
