Hi all - in the process of building my HTPC. The video signal will flow throw my Hauppauge 2250. Looking for a 28", and I am debating between a 1080p TV or a monitor with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200 (naturally, greater than 1080p). Both cost the same money.
Question is, aside from the obvious of the monitor not having a built in tuner, what are the tradeoffs? If get the sense that the monitor will be better given the higher resolution which will allow me to use the screen for more than just movie watching. In addition, the refresh rate on monitors seems higher than TVs. Thoughts would be welcome. Cheers! |
