While I 've only driven 126 mph in a car, I took my GPS on the plane this weekend and it clocked 603MPH on the flight.... I think there was some shift in the speed due to altitude and the GPS assuming we were on the ground, but who knows.... I have verifiable proof of being over 500MPH... LOL!

Many planes have a GPS option for the TV in your seat now. I seen this as far as 10 years ago when I used to travel buisness class, but now pretty much all seats have them (outside of SW airlines).. Pretty cool. It shows air speed, alitude air temp, track and eta based on average speed. I wish it would show ground speed when you are taking off though. 0-60 in like 2 seconds or some shit..
I went over the North Pole a couple times when I went to China and seen some pretty fast speeds when in the Artic Jet stream..

Yeah, I've played with those too. This time I took my own and have a record of it... So now I can show people the maximum speed (which is recorded in the GPS memory).

My friend had a 87'' Grand National GNX and that thing was indeed bad ass. A 6 banger that quick as hell. He had that thing tagged a few times but it was electronically limited to 125 MPH I think.. I heard of people going well over 150 when they figured out the governor bypass. Not sure if the '84 was goverened like that too,but probably.

My parents got a '89 20th Anniversary Turbo Pontiac TTA rite after I went into the Navy. Hmm, I wounder why they waited for that. It had the GNX turbo 3.8 and was 1 bad ass car. When I came home on leave it was snowing and could not rock it out. By the next time I was home, my dad got rid of it.. I think my sister was getting too many tickets, even though my dad was a Chicago cop.. Man, I wish my dad would have kept that car.

It is better not to overspeed nowadays when traffic accident happens so frequently. I take ZorroGPS with me and every time I dirve too fast, it will warn me loudly. So usually I just drive within the speed limit. It is for the sake of safety.

I think my fastest speed on the highway was 140-145 mph in my younger years. i would not even think about going that fast now with the roads being so crowded, the thousands in ticket/insurance surcharge costs.

138MPH (computer topped out) in my '08 Acura TL a few weeks ago.. fairly deserted road .. was trying to keep up with a Bimmer M3.. it walked away from me and then .. a new Charger R/T passed me like I was sitting still so I backed off, hung my head in shame and did the speed limit the rest of the way home :cry

Call me grandpa, I don't think I've ever done over 100, at least not much over it. I doubt I've been much over 80 in the last ten years. :tortoise icon:

75 is a good speed around here. I don't like to rev the diesel to much to keep it faster than. I do drive in the slow lanes if I'm poking around, a skill some people just never learned.
