Racing with the wife one night on the Interstate, well I was trying to catch up to her. I was going 105MPH in the left lane.. I have been the highest 125MPH in Pontiac with Corvette Engine. Wimp who was driving it was scared to get a ticket. In Euro UK my cousin BF drove Volvo at 140KPH.

Personal top speed would be on a Ninja ZX7 in college and only hit around 144-146 (hard to tell the needle was moving still very, very fast). In a car, the fastest I have personally driven is in the 135 range in my Acura TL. It would either be this or a BMW 3 series (Turbo Diesel) on the German Audobon a couple of years ago. I think we flirted with the 140 mark...everything was in those darn kilometers.

The fastest I have been as a passenger would have to be the Nascar/Indy ride along program where I was in both a stock car and Indy car (seated front to back) in the 170+ range around a banked 1.5 mile speedway. Lot's of G's. Actually I am guessing on the speed. All I know is that we passed the other students that were driving anywhere from 135 to 145 like the were sitting still.

The fastest I have been in a passenger car would have to be a mid 90's Z28 that hit the 150mph mark.

I won't lie, I am more of a zero to 100 kind of guy. I enjoy the "thrust" more than I do the top end speeds. I currently have a BMW R1200GS that is adequate at giving me acceleration thrills.

I'll start by saying a friend of mine worked at the car lot where I had my car shipped into them. On my test drive, with my honey bunny in the front seat and the sales person in the back, I decided I should slow down when I hit 130. I wanted to put my car to the test before I would decide to buy it. I did end up buying that 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST convertible, but I've not taken it to that speed since.

Not real fast, but real stupid. My 63 Ford Galaxy with H-P 390. On US6 in Nevada, I averaged 120mph for the whole distance of 120 miles between towns. I had wife & 2 kids with me. And this was a 2 lane highway.

Not that fast. I do have a handheld GPS receiver that says my max speed was 241MPH. I've only every used it hiking, so that speed would have been done on foot.

If I remember correctly, I was driving my 1972 Cutlass 442 around the 130 mark. The 72 was still the lighter 442 compared to the heavier 73 - so I could get it up and go. It was definitely on a 2 lane county road - but it was flat and you could see for miles. Seemed pretty safe except for that keg of beer bouncing around in the front seat.

I took this on my way to Vegas. I had it up at 150 earlier in the trip but didn't think of taking a picture until later. My wife was pretty pissed that I was going that fast AND taking a picture! As you can see there is plenty more engine to go.

I had it up to 172 at El Mirage Dry Lake Beds once which is the top of the OEM gearing. Needless to say the motor isn't stock.
