Daily to work 80-85 mph or normal is 70 to 75 mph. The max I've been is 120 mph, but that's if I was late for something. No speeding tickets, no radar in my cars. I use sight advantage!

Now in Europe I've been in a Volvo at 140 mph or Kms..

210km/hr on a straight highway in my Evo.

Although the longest extended high speed I've ever done is 190 in a Ford Winstar for about an hour.

Dunno really, I was kinda too focused to look. Race club (ECIRS) caravan from NYC to Rochester at about 85mph. I was #2 in a five car group on some interstate in western NY. At one point car #1 just took off and started getting small real fast. Figured I'd chase as best I could. So now we've got 'The Gray Goose' chasing 'Lucky 13' down through this beautiful valley with a slight left hand curve in the road. Real pretty, would've made an awsome vid.
Coming up the other side I lifted to slow down a bit. After several seconds I happened to scan the intruments as the speedo needle passed through 140mph (instrument cluster is not stock but accurate).
That's when common sense returned and I figured it would be prudent to rapidly slow down to a velocity less likely to put me directly in jail.
So I really don't know how fast I ultimately went.

Road racing at Pocono one weekend I was able to get her up to about 115 through that wide banked 'turn 1' before she started a gentle drift towards the wall and I ran out of nads. It's my only car, I had a long drive home, only a few laps to practice...I was soooo not gonna push it.

Sustained speeds, 100mph (+/-)for a good chunk of the drive across Florida from Tampa to Boca and back in a rented POS Taurus. People were passing me too, LOL!

speedometer reading-130 focus svt on freeway, with moderate traffc. it felt like there was a lot more. the focus only starts to sing at higher than 100. its like it puts its ears back and stretches out, to use a horse analogy.
only backed off because of passenger, he was sleeping and the thought of my wife kicking me atound for s reckless ticket.
i have see a video of a svt on a dynamometer at 170 on t he speedometer. the driver was hooting and hollering.

More than 170mph in a 69 Firebird with a roller motor and highway gears when I was a punk kid.
How much faster I couldn't say as the speedo bottomed out at 165 plus a dash.

In more modern times I drove my 00 Ford Lightning quite a bit past the 145 mph speedo.

Funny thing is that the Lightning at almost 5k pounds would badly beat Vipers and z06 Vettes at the 1/4 strip by the time I added quite a few mods to get it from it's stock13.50's to 11.90's in the 1/4 mile.

You have never seen embarresed like those drivers with their 60-100k cars getting smoked by a heavy truck.

Distant memories now though as I only have one full sized work truck left to get rid of, and the wife just dumped her Expedition for a 30+ mpg Camry.
I see a 4 cylinder truck for work in my near future.

Sadly, I imagine quite a few drag strips will be closing in the next few years.

Prob the top speed I have driven is 130mph from various SUVs I had rented for work. Those were the days...we have drive our own cars now...

I just noticed that one of the local Insurance companies used to have all of their staff driving around in Explorers, except I just noticed today that they are now driving around in Escapes. If things keep going up like this, those poor staff members will be in Focus' before they know it.

I had a 97 ford mustang with a v6 had about 96k miles ot it at the time so it wasn't in good shape at the time. I was driving on route 84 in conneticut goign down to visit my firend in ny and i looked down at the speedometer and it said 110 max on it was 120 i don't think it could have gone that fast though ..maybe if it was new lol
