Exact speed.... not sure. I was driving my "72" Nova one evening on an open empty highway when a 300 ZX pulled up to me. I begin by saying I would not endorse this these days... My speedo maxed out at 120 @ ~4000 RPM. I think his maxed out at 140 and I still had 25% of my Holley 750 left (carb). Curious, I put the pedal to the floor-boards and left him behind. I would guess I was around 150 to 160 @ 5500 RPM's. I passed a car going around the speed limit and realized how scarey it was. What I didn't realize was slowing down from that speed in a unibody car that handled more like a school bus was equally scarey... Not recommended. I would do it again in a better car on a closed track... Loved the speed.

My fastest known speed was in a Mazda MX-6 Turbo that had been modified. Needle was buried but I was doing at least 155 as that is the listed speed on the ticket/radar gun when I realized I had 2 patrol cars chasing me. (College graduation night). Taught me a very expensive lesson.

I maxed out my Camry 120 km / h on Highway 16, State of North Zanesville. I probably could do more, but there are too many blind hills and curves are quite strong at times.

How would he know he was going 180 MPH anyway? I doubt the speedo goes to 180 MPH though a digital might... My Acura TL's speedo does to 160MPH but I saw only 135(ish) top speed, floored, all out with a 3.2 vtec.

we used a radar gun to figure out that my old Chevy Silverado would hit 140. 7.4L v8 in it. It would have gone faster, but it ran out of rpm's....lol dang big block tacked out at only 5000rpm

I can only imagine what those old big blocks could do if they had been balanced enough to drive up the rpms!

My '04 F-150 is governed at 99mph! I hit 99 @ 3000 rpm.. lots of pedal left but... that limiter just cut off the fuel..LOL

You should go have your F150 tuned by Kennybrown. I garentee that if your pocket book is deep enough, you'll have an F150 that will outaccelerate all but the fastest sports cars

I actually have fond memories of a short stint I had with an 02 SVT Lightning and was hoping Ford would bring it back. Instead they released the SVT Raptor which is definately unique. If I could afford to have a total gas guzzler, that would be my new car.

Does it really go that fast? I think my accord V6 has 160mph as its top speed but I thought it was illegal for cars in US to go that fast? With gas so high here, I drive the speed limit now
