Hi Just Found this forum ,and I am sure I will Probably make good use of it as I have Not gone To Hi Deff Yet although my system is capable
of it, Just moved to digital Cable with the new setup so far. My Gear:: Samsung HLN4365WX DLP JVC NX40 DVD, Toshiba SD245 DVD Kenwood: K7070A THX Reciever Speakers: PA 10T towers for Mains JBL 6365 6.1 surround system useing the 5 satilites as surrounds with the 100W JBL sub I have had the system setup for about 6weeks now and am extremely pleased so far , though I am still a little concerned with the technology, especially the DLP TV, although WE love it so far, I will probably move to satilite on Bell when I do Go High Def, thats why I was somewhat pleased to find this forum, and read that the ExVuv 6000 Hi def reciever may not be the best choice right now. I think That the average Joe will have a bit of a hard time with all the Electronic hookups between various components though, I consider myself somewhat of a techie, in fact I am a technician, and can still get confused at times [:-D] Looking forward to learning and hopfully being able to help some others on the forum as well. Your profile doesn't say where you are located, but if your are in Montreal or Toronto, you may wish to consider:
For Montreal: The Videotron Illico package with 100% digital cable and the SA8000HD Digital Video Recorder/HDterminal which permits you to record HD or SD channels and make 2 recordings at the same time. The time shift provides endless possibilities For Toronto: Rogers cable and again the SA8000HD DVR.

You bet. You won't be sorry if you get the DVR.

Just be aware that the SA8000HD DVR doesn't have the DVI port enabled yet.

I have the 6000. Its pretty buggy. They have a new unit, but I'll wait till the HD PVR (version from Dish) is available.
