Default Do I need to Split my Shaw Cable Connection

Sorry I pretty green on this stuff.
I have a Shaw PVR HD box with my cable going directly to the box.
I know there are music channels on Shaw but I would like to get the radio stations that are delivered on the Shaw Cable. I know I could split the Cable and send one to my Shaw box and the other to my receiver, but I know this would degrade the signal to the Shaw box.
Question is there an easy way to get the Shaw signal to my receiver with out splitting?

Default Splitting Shaw Cable to receive cable radio stations

Usualy there should be no problem splitting cable to a high def box if the following conditions are met: 1. there is enough signal strenght for both components. 2. The split is done properly ( good connectors, splitter is properly connected.).

If the high def picture starts to pixalate (little squares randomly appearing on the screen) then something went wrong with the conditions mentioned above. If the splitter is of good quality (avoid the dollar store splitters! ) there should be no noise transfered to the HD box from the receiver.

Hope this helps

Default Radio Stations on Cable

You would want to contact Shaw to verify, but i believe the CRTC has mandated cable providers remove said radio transmissions from analogue cable where they are accessible on the digital box now.
