Shaw Cable digital channels no audio?

Ok, so I just bought a new Sharp 1080p TV, (LC37D62U), and I set my TV to scan for channels, both analog and digital. My TV seems to have found alot of the Shaw digital TV channels but none of them have sound. No sound from the TV and no sound going to my surround sound reciever via the optical port. Anyone have any idea why?

what is your hookup? just cable into the outlet? Shaw digital terminal. over the air, or what? Do you have shaw cable outlets? eg-I have my 26" Toshiba LCD plugged into the cable outlet direct. great picture and sound. I have my 42" Toshiba LCD plugged into my
Shaw HD terminal great pic and sound. You need to give us more info. What kind of cables etc would also be helpful.. Component,HDMI?

I have my TV hooked straight to the cable plug in the wall. No extra box or anything.

Okay, I take it you have paid you cable bill-lol Try disconnecting the surround stero box. Coaxial into the cable outlet on the wall and the other end into your TV. Input jack. Now you should have pic and sound. See if that works and post back.
