One problem with the DSR500 I haven't seen mentioned is sound substitution. Thanks to my DSR500, I get CBC NewsWorld video but VoicePrint sound. I've complained to Star Choice both via phone and via e-mail but to no avail. A portion of the latest e-mail respose is as follows:

"We realize that there are a few bugs on these receivers. However, our technical staff is working around the clock to fix these minor glitches.

Your receiver will receive downloads periodically to fix these problems. You do not have to do anything but turn off your receiver in the evening to receive the download. Your receiver will retrieve the information on its own."

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm glad to hear that it's not just my 2 DSR500's with that problem - the other night I had to watch a show on the American fight against terrorism on my bedroom TV.
Judging from the email you received they are aware of the glitch so it'd be nice if they fixed it.
