Expressvu 9200 switch error

After a recent move, when I tried to mount and set the dish up , I end up with a switch error. So I checked every connection and cable and made sure everything was hooked up the way it once was and still no dice. So I ordered a new SW44 switch kit - put that on still no good . Then I went from the reciever replacing piece by piece, one at a time and rebooting between each one(cable between tv and switch power supply, reboot, then the switch power supply itself, reboot, then the cable from the power supply to the sw44 switch, reboot, then the switch itself, reboot, then the cables between the switch anf the lnb's, reboot, then the lnb's themselves, reboot and so on) hoping that I might find a bad line, no luck. My only last thought would be that the reciever is shot(?). I've been at this for 2 months now without HD, ANY help would be GREAT, Im losing my mind, ..... thanks.

Hi SM,
I actually have the identical problem right now. Although mine started from a breaker blowing. I turned my receiver back on and my switched seemed to be gone. I had a authorized Bell installer come to take a look. He said the LNB's,dishes and cables were all good, ( he tested them with some sort of scope) then he swapped the switched out and same prob, then tried another switch with the same outcome. He then replaced the power inserter and the power that powers the power inserter even though we tested it and knew it was working and giving out the correct voltage. Tested the cables going to the receiver.....they were fine....replaced them anyway. Last thing is the receiver. He ran out of time and had to leave so I'm waiting for him to come back. He was supposed to be here tonight but was too busy.
He mentioned there was some other things he could do before he would give up on the receiver. I'll let you know what he does and how he fixes it once he comes back.

So he came and did a few more test and still nothing so he took it with him to see what could be done. He ended up flashing the EEPROM and it was back up and working again. I guess when the fuse was turned back on it sent a voltage spike to the power insterter which in turn sent some voltage down the coax line into the reciever corrupting the EEPROM.
Fixed and running again. =)
