Default Shaw/Motorola DCT6416-III PQ...

Hello to all...

I have recently purchased a Motorola DCT 6416-III box for use with my Hitachi 53UWX10BA.

I love the PQ on the HD channels, but on any non HD channel the PQ is worse then if i run the cable signal straight into my TV. It's quite poor.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this and can offer up any advice.

I have a Denon AVR 3803 receiver and I usually use component switching for both my DVD player and and the HD box. I have tried going direct to the TV from the HD box, but no difference.

Thanks.

G.

You can increase the quality a bit by switching the standard definition display from 480i to 480p. To do this, you have to go into the User Settings screen - turn off your Shaw box by hitting the power button on your remote, then within 3 seconds hit the Settings button on the remote. This will bring up the User Settings screen. Scroll down to 4:3 override and change the setting to 480p.
