Hmm I wonder if this will help cure the bandwidth problems in carrying a 1080P resolution that many providers are having an issue with.

Post Looks like 720p to me..

The company, owned by the government of Saskatchewan, is delivering the HD IPTV services using software and hardware from Alcatel and Motorola's VIP1200 HD/H.264 set-top box. In addition, SaskTel is using Kasenna's MediaBase media-streaming software and Widevine Technologies' digital-rights-management system.

The service, called Max HD Ultimate, includes 27 HD channels, as well as 35 Saskatchewan radio stations, high-speed-Internet service and other content.

SaskTel will offer HD movies from NBC Universal, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. As of Oct. 16, new customers can sign up for Max HD Ultimate for $59 per month (Canadian) for four months.

A half a million users will be on stream for this service..

I will be interested to see how this plays out with HD and if they can sneak out any extra bandwidth to offer 1080P.

Damn, I called to book an install...it's not quite in my part of the city yet. Right now I have HD from our cable TV provider. I'm using the Motorola HD DCT6412. Can hardly wait.

Just got connected yesterday, and the HD looks superb. There's a separate modem just for HD, it's about 12MB/sec.

Just wait till the 10Gig/sec stream opens up and you can recieve 1080P no problems I can't wait for that to open up but I am sure it will be awhile for that one.

SaskTel is a leader in telecommunications. I was pleasantly surprised that they were the first to deploy HDTV over IP, but not shocked.
