Default A&E HD now on Shaw Cable.

A&E HD is now broadcasting on Shaw Ch. 313 in the Vancouver area.

Is the audio all out of sync on your feed?

Just noticed your post. I checked A&E and it is currently showing "American Justice" and the audio was perfectly in sync.
I read on another HD forum that when it first came on air, Shaw was experiencing a lot of audio problems but they seem to have sorted it out now.

A&E HD is now on Bell aswell and to me it looks as though they are just stretching the SD broadcast into 16:9 ratio. Every show I've seen looks like crap.

Mind you I have only watched a few shows like "Family Jewels" and some Criss Angel shows.

It's not just you, it's the same with Shaw.

Personally, I can't imagine why anybody would pay for it. I haven't seen any HD content on it, just 'stretched' 4x3, which is an abomination at the best of times. If I want to watch streched 4x3 I click a button on my remote. I don't so I don't and I sure wouldn't pay money for it.

On the other hand, ExpressVu has a few other new HD specialty channels which seem to be actual HD. One of the channels is basically NHK HD documentaries (in English) which is pretty good.

Of course, its hard to know how often they recycle the content. DiscoveryHD, if you watch it for a month, you've seen most of the shows already.

Default A&E HD Stretch Mode is the pits!

I'm also really disappointed with A&E HD. I watched a true crime show on it the other night and everybody's heads looked like pumpkins due to stretching the 4:3 image to 16:9! I watched the rest of the show on A&E analogue (4:3) because I found this lame widescreen effect very un-natural looking and annoying!
